We didn't make it....

Well, it didn't make it to -35 F like we thought it might. It still is very cold, just not as cold as it was. It's -20 this morning; yesterday it was -26. Although, now the wind is starting to blow, which actually adds the windchill factor to it, which is about -40 F something. I threw more corn cobs out to the rabbits and squirrels this morning to help them keep warm. They've been pretty darn hard on it and there wasn't much left from a couple of days ago. The snow birds, which are actually snow buntings, have been regular customers and appreciate it when I sweep out the garage so they can get a little gravel for their gizzards. They also check out the shingles on the roof which just drives our to cats nuts. The snow buntings have come down here for the winter from the Arctic in Canada. It's their idea of "warmer", I guess. It's fun to watch the cats watch the birds and rabbits when they have that little chatter that they do when they are excited. Then, when the birds go elsewhere, they have to nap. It's so hard being a cat in our house!!! All that catwork is just soooo taxing
